A beat pressing time into the skin, like a chiron.
The need for rhythmic breathing, rhythmic breathing.
What is the fantasy in such an act?
This word is a gift object, a gift object, object.
Whether ignored or rejected.
All pores are open. Mourning, shielding, yielding.
The skin is listening: Actually, the dead are not dead.
Can you hear it?
This word is licking the present like a wound, wet and open.
A beat pressing time into the skin, the chest is burning.
The toes grab for the ground, the need for rhythmic breathing, rhythmic breathing,
searching for a double place: the unnamed healed and the named re-named.
Double. Double. Cut. Mind. Twisted.
The skin is listening: Actually, the dead are not dead.
»Show your Wound« is a choreographic and sonic performance by Ana Lessing Menjibar. In an installation space, she exposes the emotional and vulnerable human body in an almost post-human world. In dialogue with the musicians Philipp Kullen & Nikola Pieper, she interweaves body, sound worlds and language into an installation that offers her space to examine different physical states from formal to ecstatic for their poetic potential. She deconstructs flamenco and its method of »showing wounds« as an extension of her dance practice in order to pursue questions about wounds and their healing, the collective body and transformation processes.
